Description

1985 Trek 760 frameset. Full Reynolds 531C (competition) tubing throughout; this was a top-of-the-line made-in-USA Trek road bike and still rides very well. Steel is real! The paint and decals mark it as somewhere in between the 1985 and 1986 catalog depictions, which was pretty common for Trek to do in the middle of production. There are some chips to the paint as expected from this vintage, but there aren’t any dents or damage that would impact the frame’s use. See pics for condition.
56cm frame; it has about a 56.5cm seattube to the top of the lugs (Trek measured to more like the center of the binding bolt during this time) and about a 55.25cm top tube CtC. 130mm rear spacing, so it can accommodate modern 700c road wheels.
Serial Number is 162108, so a 1984 build that sits right in the middle of a run of 760s (see Vintage-Trek.com for serial number information).
The bare frame weighs 1,955 grams with water bottle and seatpost binding bolts and the bare fork weighs 665 grams on my digital scale.
